The Chevalier Bed

Our Louis XVI-style Chevalier bed embodies the refinement of neoclassical design. With delicate fluting, Rosace medallions, pine cone finials, and the standing wave motif - a French interpretation of classical ornament  - its clarity of form allows it to sit effortlessly in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Shown here in a two-tone hand-painted finish, the carving is highlighted with layered paintwork that enhances the fine detailing characteristic of all our beds. The finish is completed with an antique patination to lend depth, softness, and a subtle play of light.

The headboard is woven in traditional cane, gently antiqued for warmth. An upholstered version is also available, requiring 2 metres of plain or 2.5 metres of patterned customer’s own fabric. We can assist with fabric selection from the broad range we offer in-house.

Each bed in our collection is hand-crafted to order and can be customised with bespoke finishes and sizes. These are heirloom pieces, created with the same care and mastery found in the original ateliers.
