Italian Baroque Style Four Poster Bed In Carved Walnut, Circa Mid 1800's
One of a kind, now sold
About this piece
An impressive four poster bed from Northern Italy in the Baroque style. The bedstead, carved in walnut, has a beautiful deep sheen with natural warm highlights on many of the carved sections. The set of four hand-turned columns are accentuated with the detailing of acanthus leaf cuffs and elegant finials. The headboard has an animated carving of larger, stylised acanthus leaves with a central cartouche featuring a finely carved eagle. A lovely example of this style of bed. Circa mid 1800's
