A large and impressive Louis XVI style Trumeau Mirror from the late 1800's, sourced in France.
The hand carving of the frame and the relief scroll work at the top, featuring grapes, vines and roses, is highlighted in original, water gilding. The gilt work is in lovely condition and adds lustre to the beautifully lyric design. The background paint colour of the gilt wood is an antique white with aged hues.
The glass is the original mercury mirror, slightly aged and time mottled, lending extra depth and authenticity to the piece.
