Terms of Service – La Maison London

Updated: 13th March 2025

These Terms of Service govern all purchases made with La Maison London. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

1. DELIVERIES

It is the client's responsibility to inspect all furniture prior to leaving the showroom. Any modifications requested after delivery will not be reconciled under payment made prior to receipt.

Once your goods are completed and quality-checked by our workshop, you will be contacted to arrange delivery at a mutually convenient time. While we make every effort to accommodate requested delivery dates and time slots, these cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability.

UK deliveries are subcontracted to independent delivery companies and are charged at cost. Delivery costs will be advised, invoiced, and must be paid in full before delivery is scheduled.

International deliveries may be arranged at La Maison London's discretion, acting solely as an intermediary. Such deliveries are subject to separate quotations and require full payment in advance.

A minimum of **48 hours' notice** is required to cancel or reschedule any pre-arranged delivery. Failure to provide adequate notice may incur additional re-delivery charges.

Goods will be stored free of charge for **two weeks** from the date the goods are ready for delivery. After this period, storage charges will apply, and the customer will be advised of such charges in advance.

Delivery includes unpacking, assembly, and installation of **freestanding furniture only**. Installation of wall-mounted accessories (such as mirrors or light fittings) is not included and will be quoted separately if requested at the time of order.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all access points, including doorways, staircases, lifts, and hallways, are of sufficient size to permit delivery.

Any special delivery requirements (e.g., crane hire, window removal) must be advised at the time of order and will be subject to separate quotation.

If delivery cannot be completed due to restricted access not advised at the time of ordering, goods will not be refunded. The customer must nominate an alternative delivery address at their own cost.

Any claims regarding **shortages or damage** must be made at the time of delivery and noted on the delivery receipt. Claims made after this point will not be accepted.

2. LEAD TIMES

All lead times provided are estimates only and are subject to change due to the handmade nature of our products, supply chain delays, or other unforeseen circumstances. Possible delays will not give rise to cancellation or compensation for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss (including loss of profit or opportunity).

While La Maison London will make every effort to meet estimated delivery dates, time is not of the essence in any contract.

3. PRODUCT VARIATIONS

Due to the **handcrafted nature** of our furniture, each piece is unique. Variations in carving, colour, dimensions, and finishes are to be expected and shall not be deemed defects.

Natural materials such as **wood, leather, marble, and fabrics** will vary in tone, pattern, and texture from showroom samples, catalogues, or photographs. These variations are inherent to the materials and are not grounds for return or refund.

Bed frames are handmade to accommodate mattress sizes with an additional tolerance in internal dimensions to allow for minor variations that may occur during fabrication.

4. DAMAGE & FAULTY GOODS

All deliveries must be inspected upon receipt, and any damage or defects must be noted on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery. Claims made after delivery will be considered at La Maison London's discretion and must be submitted within **24 hours** of receipt.

Special orders, including **made-to-order and non-stock items**, are non-returnable and non-refundable, except in the case of manufacturing faults. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Liability for damage to property during delivery will only be accepted where such damage is noted on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery.

5. PAYMENTS

Goods remain the property of **La Maison London** until paid for in full.

A **non-refundable deposit** is required at the time of order placement. The balance must be paid in full prior to delivery.

For payments made by cheque, delivery will not be arranged until funds have cleared.

International payments are accepted by **bank transfer only**, with all bank charges payable by the customer.

6. CANCELLATIONS & AMENDMENTS

At La Maison London's sole discretion, amendments to orders may be accepted within **24 hours** of placing the order.

It is the customer's responsibility to check all order details, including product specifications and delivery address, and confirm their accuracy before production begins.

7. LIABILITY

La Maison London shall not be held liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including but not limited to loss of profit, opportunity, or reputation arising out of late delivery, product variations, or any other breach of these terms.

8. FORCE MAJEURE

La Maison London shall not be held liable for any failure to perform its obligations where such failure is caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to strikes, natural disasters, supply chain disruptions, or government regulations.

9. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

By placing an order with La Maison London, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
