From Italy, European home to master craftsmen, we have an original 19th Century Venetian Headboard made originally for a grand Palazzo. The Rococo design of the frame is made of large, inward curving spirals which finish as stylised, acanthus leaves. The overall impression creates both a symmetrical and organic harmony. The headboard would have been hand carved as a unique design and is complete with its original water gilded finish which has now aged to reveal a deep, warm tone. The piece can be bracketed to the wall to accommodate any mattress height and because of its large size can work with various mattress sizes.
