Working from a museum reference photograph without dimensions, we recreated the canapé to the client's required length, carefully interpreting its original proportions and carving.

Reinterpreted in scale and material
A large brass lantern, originally from a Belgian château, was reinterpreted at half scale in hand-carved gilt wood to create a series of eight.

Drawn by hand at full size, one to one on paper, we translate the idea into a detailed hand drawing, resolving proportion, scale, carving and detail before making begins.
From construction and carving through to the final finish, each stage is carried out by hand and carefully overseen to realise the piece as intended.
