About this piece
Circa late 1800's, a Louis XVI Style, medalian back armchair & matching foot stool from France. This two piece set has a fine quality of carving that makes up its LXVI details, which include: ribbon work, stylised acanthus leaf, rosaces, fluted legs and small roses and foliage at the apex of the chair back. The frames are in their original water gilded patina which is still bright, having only moderately aged, and reflects the light beautifully. The set was sourced in the luminous fabric seen in the photos which is in good condition.
