Made by master craftsmen at La Maison London, the Fontainebleau is a French Louis XVI-style bed, hand-carved in solid wood and finished in giltwood. Its architectural silhouette, fluted uprights, carved urn cresting and refined ornamentation evoke the balanced proportions of late eighteenth-century European ateliers.
Each frame is carved by hand using traditional methods, then finished in the London workshop. Layers of hand-applied gilding are aged and patinated to create the warmth, depth and subtle variation associated with fine antique furniture.
Tailored to your interior
Every Fontainebleau bed is made to order and may be customised in size, finish and upholstery. UK, European and US mattress sizes are available.
Upholstery
The traditional raised-panel upholstery is individually shaped and finished within the carved framework. Client’s own material (COM) may be supplied, or La Maison London can assist with sourcing fabrics from leading European textile houses.
Finishes
The finish shown is hand-applied aged gilt with an antiqued patination. Alternative gilded, polychrome and painted patinas are available on request.
